Rasor DD120MR 3-Phase Direct Drive Cutting Unit

The new Rasor model DD120MR is a three-phase cutting unit for use with textiles, technical fabrics, and composite materials. It uses the latest technology of Rasor DirectDrive, such as the knife installed on the same axis as the motor.

The DD120MR has no coupling gear which means it requires no maintenance (i.e. lubrication with grease) reducing the operational cost and ease of use with non-stop 24h/day production processes. The knife can reach a speed of 2600 RPM, so this tool is perfect for continuous high-speed cutting.

The new “Monster” build style overcomes potential issues when working with composite material, as it prevents fibres from winding up behind the knife. The cutting system uses a knife and counterblade (now Titanium coated) to ensure a precise and sharp cut.

The induction three-phase motor is balanced and silenced with no maintenance needed, assuring reliability for life. The knife is 120 mm in diameter, has 8-edges, and can reach a cutting thickness of 50 mm (even as multi-layers). The DD120ML is especially studied for transversal and non-stop cutting, and it is arranged with an anchor flange which makes it easy to be fitted on a fixed or automatic stirrup.

The aluminium Teflon® coated base reduces friction between the foot and the material and allows easy forward movement even when installed on sliding rails. The push button sharpening stone allows knife edge to be sharpened in less than 10 seconds without removing the knife.

For non-stop trimming processes, the DD120MR is also available in a left version (specular) as model DD120ML. The minimal maintenance and low production costs make the model DD120MR a reliable cutting solution for any high-speed O.E.M. application.
